The role may involve training/travel to Japan, China and sites within Europe and the US
DENSO is looking for an engineer with good theoretical knowledge and relevant Diesel experience, ideally with experience of dealing with customers.
Personnel: The Coventry Engineering Centre (CEC) Diesel team consists of three groups: 1) Applications, 2) System and 3) Hardware. CEC is the regional hub setup to support satellite offices across Europe. The applicant will be working within the Diesel Application team reporting to an Assistant Technical Manager.
Resources: You will need to plan work (including facilities support, proto parts and many other elements to manage own output / testing to the right quality to achieve customer/internal targets).
Planning: You will be able to prioritise activity and be flexible in your approach making sure that all activity is aligned to the high level purpose.
Decisions: You need to be able to deliver required output, determined through alignment with team leader, with the minimum of input (personal ownership). You must be proactive in reporting, exhibiting good communication to demonstrate alignment.
Good Degree or Equivalent, (2:1 or higher in Mechanical, Automotive or Electronics Engineering). Relevant MSc, MPhil, PhD desirable.
PC based analysis (e.g. using Matlab/Simulink)
Data Mining (using Internet / library)
PC Skills, MS Office, (Word, Excel), E-mail.
Basic CAD Skills (any package)
Will have demonstrated your project capability in either a work or academic environment with electro-mechanical system development.
Track record of delivering projects.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of engine combustion / engine control.
Example Knowledge: Good (e.g. 2 yrs) powertrain related system experience
