Day to day preparation of vehicles for testing, and completion of tests in the chassis dyno (CDM) area. This will involve:
The technician will also be expected to support other areas of Facilities section as needed during busy periods, and to provide holiday / sickness cover.
You will have an HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or have completed an apprenticeship in a relevant area of industry. You will be able to demonstrate good mechanical fitting skills, i.e. assembly of bespoke, sensitive components and test systems, including the preparation and set-up of systems, components and instrumentation for testing. It is essential that you have a clear understanding and knowledge of operation of engines and vehicles. You may also have experience of performance testing and development on engines or vehicles, including the design, fabrication and installation of unique test parts and instrumentation in a prototype environment. Your PC skills will also be to a high standard, including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
You will work within an international and highly diverse and multi-cultural organisation on a day-to-day basis. Willingness to work additional hours as necessary, including occasional weekends, will be required. Occasional travel to other DENSO sites or suppliers/customers may be required.
