We are looking for a capable Product Development Engineer who will be responsible for the achievement of specific development targets for our automotive HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) units. This will include the application of functional components as well as providing technical support for the customers. In Eching, near Munich is one of our strategic engineering centres and provides a range of capabilities including in vehicle testing of air conditioners, climatic and acoustic chambers, component test benches and a state of the art wind-tunnel. This centre also specializes in prototype preparation and is the location of our European material testing laboratory and the home of our Corporate Research & Development team.
You will cooperate with our customers in the field of development, design and application (customer-specific adaptations) from concept phase to series production. Furthermore you will prepare technical presentations for internal and external use. Working in cooperation with our customers, suppliers, internal and external partners you will investigate packaging requirements and cooperate with our CAD team. Additionally you will coordinate component and vehicle tests in close cooperation with our testing department. You will be also responsible for maintaining project master files and supporting the product and process FMEAs as well as performing design FMEAs. To support our worldwide suppliers you will create and check validation plans and support process audits.
You will typically have a university degree as a mechanical or automotive engineer or comparable technical education. First experience in the field of automotive air-conditioning is of advantage as well as in development of components. Also preferred would be experience with the development of plastic injection molded parts and knowledge of car interior design. Highly motivated job starter are also welcome. Additionally a good CAD knowledge (CATIA V5) or the willingness to acquire this knowledge as well as project management skills are primary requirements. Comfortable working both independently and in teams you will demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. You are likely to be highly self-motivated and flexible.
You will work within an international and highly diverse and multi-cultural organisation on a day-to-day basis. A very good level of English and German ability both written and verbal will be needed.
